I do mine with a template collar set on a plunge router. One pattern cuts both the recess and the inlay. I happen to have my rosettes go all the way to the edge of the soundhole, but it's not necessary. -C

Jay, Good thread. I'll be watching. Might want to try it myself. I'd guess Chas' router template will be the way to go. Good Luck. Chas, That's a good looking rosette. What kind of wood is it? |
